How it works

So this is how it works.

Drop boxes with the ShareMed logo will be placed in  clinic lobbies in hospitals in the Novaliches-Fairview area. A motorcycle rider will pick the samples up weekly or bi-monthly. These medicines will be sorted and stored and eventually given to dispensing doctors (DP).

Prescribing doctors (PD) will actively be on the look out for needy patients consulting in their respective clinics and carefully screen them  before giving them a prescription. PDs are requested to write a note signifying that said patient is indeed being referred for free medicines. Presence of  the PD’s cellphone number will enable the DP to inform the PD once the drugs are dispensed. The patient will also be advised to go back to his/her attending physician for final approval. The full course of the medicines in the prescription will be given if available. If maintenance drugs, half a months worth will  be dispensed. At no point will patients be asked for payment for the medicines or consultation. Also DPs may not interfere or comment on the prescription of PD. No consultation will take place and any queries of patients regarding his/her disease shall not  be entertained.

Prescribing doctors are highly encouraged to choose patients for inclusion into this project. Our resource is limited and we do not want to undermine the purpose of  hospital pharmacies. This project aims to serve patient who in the first place will have a difficult time buying his/her medicines.

It is the ultimate aim of this project to maximize this precious resource that has been too often overlooked. And it wont hurt na mababawasan din ang kalat sa kotse at bahay at clinic ninyo.
